How to Verify Your Payment

You do not need to apply. If you are eligible via Pension Credit, Income Support, or Universal Credit (with specific health/family conditions), the £25 payment is automatic.

If your postcode is listed above but you have not received money after 14 working days, you must contact the Pension Service or Jobcentre Plus immediately to issue a manual claim.

Is the £25 payment taxable?

No. Cold Weather Payments are tax-free and do not affect your other benefits.

Can I get paid more than once?

Yes. You receive £25 for each 7-day period of very cold weather between 1 November and 31 March.

My neighbor got it, why didn't I?

Eligibility depends on your specific benefits. Even if you are on Universal Credit, you usually need to have a disability, a child under 5, or a disabled child element to qualify.
